Santo Cristo Chapel Update

Posted on October 13, 2020October 13, 2020 by Bryan Boyle

Just an update on our Santo Cristo Chapel reconstruction.

We’ve stripped out the destroyed platform and wallboard out of the space and are moving forward with remediation of the water ingress issues.
As you saw in an earlier posting, we’ve obtained a beautiful new altar to replace the deteriorating wooden structure the image was reposing on.

Still to do: reconstruction of the platform and walls, painting, and ensure that further water damage will not occur. We are actively designing a new and more fitting decor for the floor (marble) and suitable screening and paint scheme to compliment the image of our Lord.

All this takes time, and, of course, funds to accomplish the goal of returning this Chapel to a place of prominence in the Shrine. While we are working forward, we are dependent on your generosity and assistance to be able to complete this renovation. We’re close with what we estimate the final cost will be, but are still asking for your assistance to push us over that goal.

Please consider making a donation to the cause by clicking on the link below and help push that red bar in the thermometer to the top!
