Carillon Fundraiser Event
The ringing of church bells was traditionally used to call people to worship, mark the passage of the hours of the day, mark important societal events, and, in the sad tolling as a funeral procession approached the church, to remind us of the brief passage of our lives.
St. Anne’s Carillon has been silent for too long. Time, old equipment, and disuse have quieted the voice of St. Anne. So, the Preservation Society is undertaking a project (among many others!) to restore this feature in the Shrine to working condition to allow the beautiful sound of the bells to once more ring out over the city and serve to announce our presence for many years in the future.
With the generous support of Good Shepherd Parish on South Main, we are holding a fundraising dinner on October 22, 2022, in the parish hall at Good Shepherd with both take-out and table service of home-made lasagna, salad, and desert. Please consider joining us on that date (the particulars are contained below) to help bring the bells of St. Anne back to life!

Robert Gauvin Elected President of the Preservation Society at Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the corporate Board of Directors of the St. Anne Shrine Preservation Society was held on Monday, August 22, 2022 to select the President and Secretary of the Society as called for in our articles of incorporation.
Mr. Richard Affonso, President of the Society since its foundation in 2019, decided to step down as the executive of the Society, and Mr. Robert Gauvin, financial secretary, was unopposed as a candidate and was elected President of the organization on a voice vote of the board members present.
Ms. Debbie Davey also ran unopposed for the position of Secretary and was also elected on a voice vote of the board.
Both officers assumed their positions upon their election, and join Mrs. Cecile Michno (Treasurer) and Mr. Jeffrey Montigny (Vice President) as the executive members of the Board of Directors.
