2020 marks are very special year for us at the shrine. The lower “crypt” church, colloquially known as the “shrine” will mark its 125th anniversary, on December 25 (Christmas Day).
From 1895 to 1906 the lower church served as the parish church of Saint Anne, while the construction of the magnificent upper church was ongoing. Since the mid 1920’s the lower church has become a place of healing, prayer and pilgrimage. Many unexplained healings occurred under the shrine’s direction of Father Vincent Marchildon, OP and Father Pierre Lachance, OP.
Please remember St. Anne in your prayers along with the members of the St. Anne Shrine Preservation Society as we mark this jubilee year!
