Faith

Posted on September 3, 2020September 3, 2020 by Bryan Boyle

Our moral life has its source in faith in God who reveals his love to us. St. Paul speaks of the “obedience of faith” as our first obligation. He shows that “ignorance of God” is the principle and explanation of all moral deviations. Our duty toward God, is to believe in him and to bear witness to him.

New Organ moved to St. Anne

Posted on September 2, 2020September 2, 2020 by Bryan Boyle

Seeking to improve our Liturgies in the Shrine, we’ve obtained a new (for us) Allen Protege Organ, with the attached speakers to enrich the celebrations.

We used the services of a local moving company, M and M Movers in Fall River, who had experience (and equipment) to dismount from the location the instrument was in, and move to St. Anne.

The organ was installed in the Shrine, speakers stacked and wiring run to each side of the platform. Mr. Scott Lariviere, Music Director of the Shrine, tested the instrument…and was pleased with both the console and the ability of the Allen to fill the nave with sounds of a suitable instrument.

The Shrine is excited about this addition to our sanctuary, and is looking forward to hearing suitable selections to enhance our liturgical celebrations.

Santo Cristo Renovation

Posted on August 30, 2020September 1, 2020 by Bryan Boyle

We’ve been working on the renovation of Santo Cristo Chapel to address the deterioration of the platform, walls, and address the water flooding problem. We’ve stood up a page to begin to detail the work that will be involved and are actively soliciting YOUR help in returning this Chapel to its proper place and suitable presentation in the Shrine.

For now, elements of Santo Cristo have been moved to St. Joseph’s Chapel:

Please consider helping us with a sacrificial offering, either by stopping by the Shrine office or by clicking on the link below. All donations will be earmarked for the Chapel renovation, and your name will be included on an Honor Roll to be both published on this site as well as a plaque to be mounted outside the restored Chapel.

The renovation page is here:
