Digging Through Old Postcards

Posted on October 16, 2019August 3, 2020 by Administrator

I’ve maintained a collection of post cards from the last century that illustrate scenes from Fall River; in the group are some of St. Anne’s taken many years ago. Thought you’d all enjoy a look at them from time to time.

If you want to save them locally, click on the image, then right click with your mouse on the larger image and select “Save Image As…” and save to your local disk.

As I find more in my collection as I have the time, I’ll update this entry.… Continue reading...

New Fall/Winter Hours of Shrine Open

Posted on October 15, 2019August 3, 2020 by Administrator

The hours that St. Anne’s Shrine will be open have changed to account for the shorter days and to ensure our visitors’ safety.

The new hours of operation are:

Monday through Sunday: 8:00AM — 5:00PM

Please note that for special events, we will, of course, remain open for the event, but for normal day-to-day activities, the hours above are when the Shrine is staffed to accommodate your visit.

St Anne’s History Pages Uploaded

Posted on October 10, 2019August 3, 2020 by Administrator

In the menu on the right, under ‘History of the Shrine’ are the pages written by Fr. Pierre Lachance OP that cover the history of this great Shrine. They were downloaded from the internet archive and are presented as they were from that site. There is a lot of cleanup of the pages from the old website that has to take place (you will see the pages displayed as they were on the parish website), so the links will take you back in time to when the parish was active.

Under the Preservation Society Information menu on the right hand side, is a link to our donation information and a link to a form to print out to send in with your free will offering.

We are working to automate this through a PayPal “DONATE” button, but for now, this will provide a means for you to help us out!

New Photos Added in Photo Album

Posted on September 27, 2019August 3, 2020 by Administrator

I’ve added some photos in the St. Anne Photo Album entry in the right hand columns of some of the saints whose presence surrounds the Shrine. Included is a photo of Fr. Marchildon OP, whose efforts to establish the Shrine as a center of devotion are legendary.

Also had a chance to visit the upstairs Casavant organ…and there is a photo of that magnificent instrument in the album.
